History
The station opened in 1904 as the western terminus of the 1,067 mm gauge Flekkefjord Line, a narrow-gauge railway serving the Agder coast. For four decades it was crucial for regional passenger and freight movement. In 1944, completion of the Sørland Line created a new standard-gauge through route, reducing Flekkefjord to branch status. The station underwent significant changes: track gauge conversion to standard, reduced track capacity, and structural modifications. The original brick building was demolished in 1970, yet operations continued until the line closed in 1990. Depot buildings and trackwork persist on site.
