The hotel rises three storeys with an attic, built in brick with stucco detailing and marble facing at ground level. Two facades—one on Lime Street with two bays, another on Skelhorne Street with three—create dynamic street presence.
Pilasters rise between the bays to crown height, each topped by a cornice. Bow windows project from the upper floors, their curves emphasizing verticality. Inscribed between floors, the letters “CROWN” and “HOTEL” appear in elaborate lettering, while the left bay on Skelhorne Street bears a three-line panel advertising “WALKERS ALES WARRINGTON.”
Each attic contains a lunette window framed by an ornate architrave. Inside, moulded coffered ceilings and extensive engraved glass demonstrate the investment in interior ornament, characteristic of Art Nouveau’s embrace of total design.
