Collecting Gallery

A contemporary art gallery in Rome dedicated to emerging artists and diverse artistic practices, operating since 2004.

At a glance

Collecting Gallery is a private contemporary art space focused on supporting emerging talent across international art scenes. The gallery regularly participates in art fairs throughout Italy and beyond, broadening access to the artists it represents.

History

The gallery opened in January 2004 with an exhibition dedicated to American illustrators. In January 2009, curator Ada Egidio took over directorial responsibilities, establishing a commitment to exploring multiple forms and mediums within contemporary practice. After occupying a secondary location on Via Pietro Cavallini for two years, the gallery returned to its principal headquarters in April 2015. Since May 2017, Egidio has served as artistic director of Iconic The Exhibition, an international curatorial project.

What you see

Located in the residential neighbourhood of Rome’s EUR district, the gallery operates as an intimate exhibition space. The venue showcases contemporary works selected for their artistic merit and innovative approaches across painting, sculpture, illustration, and other media.

Cultural significance

Collecting Gallery reflects Rome’s role as a hub for contemporary art discourse beyond its classical heritage. By championing emerging and international artists, the space contributes to the city’s living artistic ecosystem and provides a platform for experimental practice.
