The church’s trajectory was marked by a significant legal episode in 2015, when six church leaders and finance managers were convicted of criminal breach of trust and falsification of accounts. The Appeal Court later found them guilty of basic criminal breach of trust and reduced sentences, noting that the six were not motivated by personal gain and that all misappropriated funds were returned to the church with interest.
