History
The museum was established in 1996, drawing its foundation from aircraft that had arrived at the Luhansk Aircraft Repair Plant for maintenance. Economic pressures prevented their repair, and the machines risked being written off as scrap metal. Rather than allow this loss, authorities chose preservation, transforming the dormant fleet into a museum collection.
In April 2011, the museum marked two significant anniversaries: the 50th anniversary of the first crewed spaceflight and the 90th birthday of pilot-cosmonaut Georgy Berehovoy, commemorated through a dedicated exhibition.
