Overview

Art Aia — Creatives / In / Residence is a cultural centre and a creative residence set inside a farm on the Friulian plain, near the village of Sesto al Reghena, in the Province of Pordenone.

Its stated purposes are artistic research and experiment in the district, information, and the promotion of art and culture locally and internationally.

History

Art Aia pursues cultural and artistic ends only, guided by the idea that art can help to pass the limits and barriers still placed on communication — cultural, social, national, linguistic and artistic — which in any form narrow imagination and creativity. For that reason it works hard at exchanges and collaborations between individual artists and groups of different nationalities and origins.

What you see

The centre organises and hosts several kinds of initiative: artists may stay at Art Aia during periods of study and work, to develop new projects, to create performances or audiovisual works, to follow courses, seminars and workshops at various levels and in various techniques, and to present their work within festivals and reviews.
