Overview

The ArcheoMuseo is at Arona, on the Piedmontese shore of Lake Maggiore, in the Province of Novara. It sets out the history of human settlement in the district through a chronological display of the material.

History

The sequence runs from the earliest archaeological evidence of the Neolithic and Eneolithic periods through to the pottery and glass of post-Renaissance manufacture found during the excavations for the enlargement of the town hospital.

Numerous panels take the visitor through the themes suggested by the finds in the cases. An archaeological guide to the district, available on the spot, is useful alongside the visit.
