Overview
The Parco Archeologico della Forza is at Ispica, in the Province of Ragusa, in Sicily. The site holds the ruins of an ancient settlement going back to the Bronze and Iron Ages; the area was also inhabited in Greek and Roman times.
History
The park covers about twenty-five hectares and takes in the remains of several structures, among them a necropolis, a temple, fortification walls and the traces of settlement. The archive entry records no excavation dates, and none have been added here.
What you see
Among the most important remains are the watchtower and the necropolis, with its rock-cut chamber tombs (tombe a grotticella).
Visitors can walk the site and take in the view over the surrounding country; guided visits and activities are offered, including craft workshops and tastings of local produce.
