The Levant Fair

The Levant Fair (Fire du Levande in Bari dialect), which reached its 82nd edition in 2018, is one of the main Italian and Mediterranean fairs, based in Bari, precisely in the Marconi-San Girolamo-Fesca district, its main entrance is on Lungomare Starita, 4.

During the year, the exhibition center hosts about thirty international events including exhibitions, congresses and events.

The Fair was born in 1929 from the joint collaboration of the Municipality of Bari, the Provincial Administration and the Bari Chamber of Commerce and has been operating continuously since that year.

The first edition of the international sample, to which the Fiera del Levante gives its name, took place in 1930.

The logo, the ship with outstretched sails, was created by the futurist painter Thayaht.

Since then it has been repeated in September every year, with the exception of the period between 1940 and 1946 due to the war devastation suffered by the Apulian capital.

A flagship event in the annual program, the multi-sector sample counts about 800 exhibitors and hosts about 200,000 visitors.

The first specialized reviews were born in 1969.

The exhibition center of about one hundred thousand square meters has grown over time and today occupies a total area of ??300,000 square meters, which hosts about forty events during the year.

Since 2011, the Fair has a new structure dedicated to conferences.

During 2012, the Fair intends to further strengthen the congress activity with the construction of a new building.

The main event is the "Campionaria di Settembre".

Thanks to the 'Stock Exchange', the Fair promotes contacts between exhibitors from the central-southern, south-eastern European markets and, in general, from the Mediterranean area.

Overall, the exhibitors who participate annually in the events on the calendar are over five thousand and over two million visitors, coming from Europe and the Mediterranean basin.
