Nuraghe - Su Nurax Archaeological Area

The BARUMINI SISTEMA CULTURA FOUNDATION was born in December 2006 with the clear intention of making a change in the management of cultural heritage in the Barumini area.

Su Nuraxi archaeological area in the Unesco World Heritage lists
In 1997, the inclusion of the Su Nuraxi archaeological area in the Unesco World Heritage lists has in fact led to a significant growth in cultural and tourist demand in the area, imposing high standards of quality of services. This required a complete revision of the management system that took into account the use of cultural heritage and the potential for economic development linked to the valorisation of the heritage, making it necessary to identify a new management model capable of overcoming the scarce efficiency and cost-effectiveness of tools used up to that point.

The Municipality of Barumini has entrusted the Barumini Foundation with Sistema Cultura

For all these reasons, the Municipality of Barumini has entrusted the management of the entire network of cultural heritage present in the Barumini area to the Barumini Sistema Cultura Foundation. It is a non-profit subject governed by private law, which has statutory and managerial autonomy and which has revealed itself over time as an evolved and rational model of management of Cultural Heritage, considered by many to be an example to imitate, as it has become the most important Sardinian company founded on cultural tourism.
