OmoGirando: a company town in Milan — Bicocca, Milan, 22 November 2026

Bicocca was built as a company town: from 1903 the Breda, Pirelli, Falck and Marelli works took over the north-east of Milan, and housing, services and streets were laid out around the factories. When the plants closed in the 1980s, the district was rebuilt around a university.

On Sunday 22 November 2026, from 15:00 to 17:00, OmoGirando leads a guided walk through Bicocca and the Villaggio Pirelli on that story: how the industrial quarter was born, and what it became when the factories left.

The walk is organised as an LGBTQIA+ friendly visit. Places are booked through OmoGirando; read their participation rules before booking.
