Vincenzo Lancia (Fobello, 24 August 1881 – Turin, 15 February 1937), a Fiat test driver and racing driver, founded in 1906 in Turin the car company that carries his name. His best known technical contribution is the Lancia Lambda of 1922, the first production car with a load-bearing body and independent front suspension — solutions that shaped European car design.
