Birth Anniversary: Mario Castoldi — February 26, 1888
Mario Castoldi (Zibido San Giacomo, 26 February 1888 – 31 May 1968), aeronautical engineer, was from 1922 chief designer at Aeronautica Macchi. He drew the series of racing seaplanes that won the Schneider Trophy and set world speed records, up to the Macchi M.C.72. The letters «M.C.» joined the names Macchi and Castoldi.
