Death Anniversary: Unico Wilhelm van Wassenaer — November 9, 1766
He died at The Hague on 9 November 1766. His celebrated Concerti Armonici, published anonymously by Carlo Ricciotti in 1740, were long erroneously attributed to Giovanni Battista Pergolesi until musicologist Albert Dunning discovered Wassenaer’s autograph manuscript at Twickel Castle in 1979.
