Fosco Giachetti died in Rome on 22 December 1974. In 1942 he had appeared in Bengasi, Un colpo di pistola, Inferno giallo, Fari nella nebbia and in both parts of Noi vivi – Addio Kira, and won the Venice award for the first of them.
