He died in Madrid on 23 July 1757, in a house in the Calle de Leganitos, and was buried in the parish of San Martín. The keyboard sonatas, most of them copied for his pupil Maria Barbara of Portugal, circulated widely in manuscript in his lifetime and were printed in London and Paris during the 1730s and 1740s.
