She had founded Forma 1 in 1947 and Continuità in 1961, took part in the Italian feminist movement of the Seventies, and spent sixty years on one problem: the sign, repeated over a coloured ground until it turns into light. Her work is in the Galleria Nazionale in Rome, at the Castello di Rivoli and at the Centre Pompidou.
