Curators’ Tour: Global — Neutral (Architekturzentrum Wien)

The Architekturzentrum Wien, Austria’s national museum of architecture, opens its exhibition Global — Neutral to a curator-led guided tour. Over an hour, the curators walk visitors through the show’s central question: how roughly twenty-five Austrian architects — among them Hans Hollein and Carl Pruscha — worked across African and Asian countries between 1955 and 1989, building from a position of neutrality in places such as Burkina Faso, India, Iran and Nepal, where their projects met development programmes, diplomacy and international exchange.

The tour is led by the exhibition’s curators inside Ausstellungshalle 2, and is a chance to read the material with the people who assembled it — the drawings, photographs and documents that trace a little-known chapter of twentieth-century architecture.
