The Corallo Drinks Return to the Terme del Corallo — Livorno, 21 September 2026

On the afternoon of 21 September 2026 the doors of the Sala della Mescita at the Terme del Corallo in Livorno opened on a room full of people and on a bottle that had not been seen there for sixty years. The Corallo drinks — Aranciata, Lemoncino, Ginger soda, Chinotto — were made with the mineral water of the Acque della Salute springs until production stopped in the 1960s. They are being made again, and the proceeds of the relaunch go to the restoration of the iron gates at the entrance to the old thermal establishment.

The brand belongs to the history of the site. When the Stabilimento termale delle Acque della Salute passed from the founding joint-stock company to the Chayes family, through the firm Sorgenti Acque della Salute, the new management set out to widen the range: alongside the mineral waters came soft drinks made from pure fruit juices and concentrates, prepared with Corallo water. The Aranciata came first, then the Lemoncino; later, under SIAM, Società Imbottigliamento Acque Minerali, the Ginger soda and the Chinotto joined them. The line ran until the 1960s, and then stopped.

The presentation was made by the Associazione Terme del Corallo ODV, which has worked for years on the renaissance of the abandoned thermal establishment, with Enoturistica and Confesercenti Livorno. After the story of the brand, an advertisement made in the 1950s by the K Pubblicità studio in Florence was shown, and the first ten “ambassadors” of the Terme were named — the bars and restaurants in the city that have put the drinks back on their counters. About three hundred people stayed on in the historic garden among the tables.
