Fernando Botero. Il peso dei sogni — Museo RISO, Palermo
Palazzo Belmonte Riso — the seat of Sicily’s regional museum of modern and contemporary art, on Palermo’s Cassaro — hosts Fernando Botero. Il peso dei sogni, an exhibition of twelve works by the Colombian master: paintings, drawings, watercolours and sculpture, including the sinuous gilded-bronze Serpente. Female portraits, circus scenes, bullfighting subjects and domestic interiors follow the themes Botero made unmistakable — the weight given to volume, the play of proportion, the constant dialogue with the history of art.
On Sunday 6 September — the first Sunday of the month, with free admission to the museum — CoopCulture runs dedicated guided visits to the exhibition at 10:00, 11:00 and 12:00 (€7, audio devices included).
