Birth Anniversary: Enrico Accatino — August 1920
Enrico Accatino was born in Genoa in August 1920. He studied drawing in Turin with Felice Casorati between 1938 and 1940, took his diploma at the Rome academy after the war, and from 1950 lived and worked in Rome. He moved from figure to abstraction, and from 1965 designed and wove tapestries, running workshops and courses that brought the craft back into Italian art schools.
The day is not established. Two sources give two different days — 20 and 22 August 1920 — and we could not settle between them. The month and the year are not in question. Until it is confirmed, this anniversary is carried at the first of the month.
