Birth Anniversary: Edina Altara — July 9, 1898

Edina Altara was born in Sassari on 9 July 1898. She was self-taught, and still a girl when Vittorio Emanuele III bought one of her collages, shown in Turin in 1917 at the Società degli Amici dell’Arte. In 1922 she married the illustrator Vittorio Accornero de Testa and worked beside him on illustration and decoration until they separated, in the mid-Thirties.
