Born on the island of Burano in the Venetian lagoon on 18 October 1706, which earned him the lifelong moniker Il Buranello. A brilliant keyboard student of Antonio Lotti at the Conservatorio dei Mendicanti, he quickly rose to become Venice’s foremost musical luminary.
