Biennale di Viterbo

18 July 2026 — 31 October 2026
Biennale di Viterbo

The Biennale di Viterbo is the contemporary art event of the Tuscia, the historic region of northern Lazio around Viterbo. Held every two years, it brings contemporary artistic research to a territory better known for its medieval quarter and its Etruscan past.

The exhibition works as a platform for artists working in and around the province: a recurring appointment that gathers current practice and puts it in front of a local audience, drawing visitors from the wider region. Across its editions it has established itself as a point of dialogue between artists, institutions and the public, and has helped position Viterbo as a reference for contemporary artistic experimentation in central Italy.

The stated aim of the organisers is a visual culture that is both dynamic and inclusive — one that opens a critical conversation about contemporary tendencies and encourages residents to take part in the cultural life of their own city, rather than treating contemporary art as something that happens elsewhere.
