The annual summer opera festival at the Arena di Verona, one of the world’s largest and most celebrated open-air opera events. Since its first edition in 1913, the festival has staged grand-scale productions — including iconic stagings of Verdi’s Aida with live animals and monumental scenography — in the intact Roman amphitheatre seating 22,000.
