Amadeus — Film Location

Miloš Forman filmed Amadeus (1984) in his native Prague, whose baroque palaces and the Estates Theatre — where Mozart had conducted the premiere of Don Giovanni in 1787 — stood in for eighteenth-century Vienna. The intact old city, crowned by the castle district of Hradčany, let Forman recreate Mozart’s world in streets where some of it had really happened.
