Il Museo ospita materiali volti ad illustrare l’età postclassica, attraverso reperti provenienti prevalentemente da contesti romani e dell’Italia centrale. In esposizione ricchi corredi di età longobarda, materiali scultorei dell’arredo liturgico di alcune chiese di età carolingia e la documentazione degli insediamenti altomedievali della campagna romana. Infine ammireremo la grande sala di rappresentanza rivestita di marmi policromi di una ricca domus ostiense di Porta Marina.
