Birth Anniversary: Giuseppe Amisani — December 7, 1881

Giuseppe Amisani was born in Mede, in the Lomellina, on 7 December 1881. He studied at Brera under Cesare Tallone and came to share with Ambrogio Alciati the reputation of the elegant portraitist: the Milanese upper middle class first, then the actresses of theatre and cinema, and later the House of Savoy and the royal family of Bulgaria, which earned him the label of painter of princes and kings.
