Birth Anniversary: Mario Asnago — March 25, 1896

Mario Asnago was born in Barlassina, in the province of Milan, on 25 March 1896, the son of a furniture craftsman. He trained as an architect at the Regio Istituto di Belle Arti in Bologna, graduating in 1922, and from 1928 ran a studio on via Cappuccio in Milan with Claudio Vender. The partnership became one of the defining voices of Italian architectural rationalism, publishing regularly in Domus under Gio Ponti.
