Feast of Saint Vitus — June 15
15 June 2027
The feast of Saint Vitus falls on 15 June. King John of Luxembourg laid the foundation stone of the Prague cathedral that carries his name on 21 November 1344, the same year the city’s bishopric was raised to an archbishopric — construction and status arriving together, as if the church needed to grow into its new rank. St. Vitus Cathedral, inside the walls of Prague Castle, is dedicated to him alongside Saints Wenceslas and Adalbert.
