Urbanistica del possibile: Pietro Dente at Triphè, Rome

For Rome Future Week 2026 the painter Pietro Dente takes over the gallery Triphè, a few steps from Castel Sant’Angelo, with a solo show curated by Maria Laura Perilli. The title — Urbanistica del possibile, the town planning of the possible — sets out the argument: paintings of an urban skyline read as a way of thinking about the city that is coming.

Where Rome Future Week looks at the technologies reshaping how cities are lived in, Dente looks at a stratigraphic city: imagined connections laid over concrete future possibilities. In the Urban Morphogenesis works the architecture of the city is rebuilt as though the founding idea were itself an architectural project, and the growth of large urban agglomerations is re-read through a mix of techniques in which physical and digital surfaces become hard to separate. The thousand-year history of the place is not set aside; it is the ground the future is drawn on.

The curator identifies three points of contact with the week’s themes: the centrality of the human figure — architecture may be the protagonist, but the cities are to be built to human measure; stratification — there is no convincing future without a solid awareness of the past; and multidimensionality, in the technique as much as in the subject.
