History
The station opened on 6 October 1982 as part of the Beekkant–Saint-Guidon extension of the former line 1B. It served as the western terminus of the Brussels Metro until the line extended to Veeweyde on 5 July 1985. A subsequent extension westward to Bizet opened on 10 January 1992, later reaching Erasme in 2003. Following the Brussels Metro’s reorganisation on 4 April 2009, the station became part of the reconfigured line 5.
