History
Founded in 1950 as Rankovićevo City Museum, the institution received its current name in 1955. For decades it operated without a permanent home until the Kraljevo Municipal Assembly transferred the historic school building to the museum in 1985. Extensive renovation followed: the first phase, completed in 1995, added a large representative gallery. A final expansion between 2002 and 2005 brought the museum to its present size and scope.
