History
The Colisée opened in 1938, establishing itself as the city’s primary indoor sports venue. From 1969 to 1992, it was home to the Trois-Rivières Draveurs of the QMJHL, a significant era in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League history. Later, between 2004 and 2018, the building hosted an LNAH franchise that operated under several names, including a return to the Draveurs name before ceasing operations. In 2021, the venue was officially renamed Colisée Jean-Guy Talbot. The construction of Colisée Vidéotron in District 55, completed in September 2021, marked the city’s expansion of sports infrastructure.
