Elmer A. Stuck Is Born (1900)

On 2 February 1900 Elmer A. Stuck was born. From 1926 he practised in Jonesboro, Arkansas, where he and his partners built the leading architectural firm of the Arkansas Delta. With John Parks Almand he designed the Art Deco Medical Arts Building in Hot Springs (1929), the tallest building in the state for nearly thirty years. His wider work included the federal building in Helena, three county courthouses and much of the campus of what is now Arkansas State University.
