History

The villa takes its name from the Priuli (Priula) family, a distinguished Venetian and Lombard patrician dynasty with documented presence in the Como area from the Renaissance period. Like many Brianza villas, it served as a seasonal residence for a noble Milanese family, passing through several owners over the centuries before its conversion to hospitality use. The rural Brianza landscape it occupies — known as the “Balcone della Lombardia” — became famous in the 19th century as a retreat for Milanese intellectuals and artists.

The main villa building features the characteristic Lombard country-house design: rendered facade, symmetrical window arrangement, and a central entrance loggia. The surrounding park retains mature trees and garden terraces. Getting there

Valbrona is located approximately 15 km north-east of Como and 15 km north of Lecco. By car from Milan, take the A51 or A4 motorway toward Lecco, then follow SP72 north into the Valassina valley toward Valbrona (approximately 50 minutes). The nearest rail station is Lecco, from which a taxi or local bus connects to Valbrona. Lake Como ferries serve Bellagio (20 km), accessible by car from Valbrona via Magreglio.
