Eidos Contemporary Images

A contemporary art gallery dedicated to twentieth-century abstraction, from geometric composition to informal experimentation.

At a glance

Eidos Contemporary Images represents three decades of curatorial focus on historical abstraction. The gallery participates regularly in major national and European art fairs, expanding the reach of its program beyond its Asti location.

History

Founded in 1990 under the direction of Mario Soria, Eidos has operated continuously for more than thirty years. The gallery’s programming reflects a sustained commitment to the pioneering movements of twentieth-century modernism.

What you see

The gallery presents rotating exhibitions in a dedicated contemporary space. Works on display range across geometric abstraction and informal art, representing masters including Hartung, Mathieu, Albers, Vasarely, Bill, Francis, Rainer, Nitsch, Fontana, Scanavino, Matta, and others.

Cultural significance

Eidos functions as a scholarly platform for non-representational art. By focusing on both historical abstractionists and contemporary practitioners working in related idioms, the gallery maintains a bridge between post-war modernism and present-day practice.
