Charyn National Park

Charyn National Park was established in 2004 to safeguard the natural heritage of the Almaty region. A significant territorial expansion in 2009 nearly doubled its protected area.
History
The park was created by Government Resolution No. 213 on February 23, 2004. Just five years later, Resolution No. 21 of February 6, 2009, enlarged the park’s boundaries, expanding its territory from approximately 93,150 hectares to over 127,050 hectares. This expansion reflected growing recognition of the ecological value of the region.
