History
Giovanni Bordiga, then president of the Academy of Fine Arts, launched the institution in December 1926. From 2001, it became Università Iuav di Venezia, expanding beyond architecture to embrace design, arts, and territorial planning. In 2012, three faculties reorganised into three departments: architecture, construction and conservation; cultures of design; and planning in complex environments.
