History
The dwelling was the home of Andrea Maér Averoldi, a practitioner of traditional hammer-forging techniques who represented the final generation of artisans working at the mallet in Ome. When Averoldi died in 1984, the house passed into new custodianship. Brescian antiquarian Pietro Malossi, who had developed a close connection to Ome through frequent visits, bequeathed his personal collections to a foundation established in his name. The house subsequently became a museum, transforming a private residence into a repository of both domestic life and collected objects.
