History
The secret formula dates to 1886. Since 1925, the recipe had been locked in the vaults of SunTrust Banks Inc., where it was held as one of the company’s most valuable assets. For much of the 20th century, the formula remained entirely removed from public view. In 2007, to mark Coca-Cola’s 125th anniversary, company leadership made the unprecedented decision to move the vault to the World of Coca-Cola museum. CEO Muhtar Kent announced the transfer at the official exhibition, stating it was time for the secret formula to return home.

Practical information
The vault is displayed within the World of Coca-Cola museum. Sunday to Thursday: 10:00–17:00. Friday to Saturday: 09:00–17:00. Visitors should note that while the vault is visible, the formula itself cannot be accessed or sampled; the metal box containing it remains sealed within the high-tech security system.
