Fava-Ghisilieri Palace

Fava Palace, also known as Fava-Ghisilieri Palace, is a historic building in Bologna.

It houses the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, with its Carracci Fava Literary Café.

The current structure took shape in the Renaissance, with important restorations carried out under the impulse of Filippo Fava, who had received a conspicuous dowry from his marriage to Ginevra Orsi.

In 1584 the Carraccis, introduced to Filippo Fava by his tailor Antonio Carracci, father of Agostino and Annibale, were hired to decorate three rooms on the noble floor of the building with the frieze dedicated to the myth of Jason, of Europe and some stories from the Aeneid .
