The National Library "Vittorio Emanuele III" of Naples (formerly the Royal Bourbon Library) is a state public library located in the Royal Palace, in Piazza del Plebiscito.
It has a patrimony of 1 480 747 printed volumes, 319 187 pamphlets and 18 415 manuscripts, which in quantitative terms makes it the third among Italian libraries, after the two National Centers of Rome and Florence.
It depends on the General Directorate for Library Heritage and Cultural Institutes of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities.
