The museum is set up in the frescoed rooms of the fourteenth-century Castiglioni di Monteruzzo Palace, and it presents an original collection of more than fifty artworks from the ‘70s.
The great success of plastics materials and the technical and aesthetical characteristics of its raw materials pushed the Count Lodovico Castiglioni and his cousin Franco Mazzucchelli to create – between 1969 and 1973 – a centre of aesthetic research. The laboratory was founded at “Polimero Arte” and it was provided with technologies and qualified personnel coming from Mazzucchelli Celluloide, the most important Italian industry for what that concerns the production and the elaboration of plastics materials.
Many artists at the time participated at the initiative and several of their works have been exposed in occasion of high-profile exhibitions, both national and international.
