DIVA is the new museum in Antwerp, Belgium, where the local goldsmith's art is put on display with its centuries of prestigious history. In a building in the center of the capital of Flanders, where all the treasures of the past from the African colonies came together, the Diamantmuseum now has a new name and a new layout.
The institution is directed by Jérome Martens and curated by Romy Cockx, and is based in the Jewish quarter which is the symbol of Flemish goldsmith excellence in this land of arrivals and departures.
The extraordinary exhibitions, multimedia and interactive elements illustrate a different theme in each room, creating an atmosphere that amazes, seduces and revives the past with insights into what is still the sector for Belgium today.
DIVA contains six spaces filled with seductive objects that illustrate the full story of BrillAntwerp, a pun that combines BRILLANTE and ANTWERP, the Anglo-Saxon name for Antwerp (in Flemish Antwerpen).
