The museum collection contains many pieces that tell visitors about life in the spa town from the late 19th century to the present, the largest collection of swimwear in Latvia, old Jurmala postcards, works by famous painters, pieces of underwater archeology and a gift shop.
The collection consists mainly of women's swimwear from the 20th century. They are predominant, as women have probably been more active in both buying and wearing swimwear.
These are also the best-kept swimsuits, because a real lady doesn't wear the same swimsuit for more than one season.
The "Ships in Depth" exhibition tells the story of the destinies of significant ships, warships and submarines for our country, as well as of Latvian navigation.
Families with children can spend a nice afternoon in the cozy museum café when they organize parties for children and families. Families can celebrate these events not only with coffee and large pretzels, but also by going on a treasure hunt on shipwrecks.
In addition to the exhibits for the museum's guests, which change every month, the museum hosts three permanent exhibits:
- Historical exhibition History of Riga Jurmala and Ķemeri Resort from the 18th to the 20th century
- Children at the Resort, dedicated to the memories that Jurmala visitors have had over the years since their childhood
- Rainis multimedia exhibition hall. Spaciousness. Depth. Infinity.
The museum collection contains over 60,000 objects, with many pieces telling visitors about life in the coastal tourist city from the late 19th century to the present, the largest collection of swimwear in Latvia, old postcards from Jurmala, works by famous painters and pieces of underwater archeology.
