Victoria Peak (The Peak)

Victoria Peak known locally as "The Peak", is not actually located at the highest point, but describes an area around the summit of what is properly called Mount Austin.

The area has historical significance as home to expensive residential homes in the days of the British colony of Hong Kong, but is now more widely known as a tourist destination thanks to the magnificent views of Victoria Harbor and the unusual cable car / funicular known as the Peak Tram which has been operating for over 100 years.

Among the things to see in Hong Kong you will surely have listed Victoria Peak (and here I will explain how to get there), also known as Mount Austin or simply as The Peak. At 552 meters high, it is the tallest mountain in Hong Kong and offers unrivaled views of Victoria Harbor, the Central Financial District and the surrounding islands. It attracts around 7 million visitors a year who reach the summit via the famous Peak Tram, by bus or taxi.

Victoria Peak (1,122m) is the second highest mountain in Belize and is located in the Mayan Mountains in the Stann Creek District. The first exploration took place with a British expedition in 1888-1889. The name is dedicated to the GREAT Queen Victoria, as Belize was a British colony.
