Prague Cathedral

Vitus Cathedral has become a symbol of Prague and the entire Czech Republic, both because of its history and as an artistic memorial. The cathedral houses an important relic of Christianity, the head of St. Luke the Evangelist.

During his trip to Italy in 1354, the emperor Charles IV, to enrich the cathedral of Prague, had the head of St. Luke delivered by the city of Padua, Feltre had to give him the head of San Vittore, while Pavia the relics of St. Vito. The vault of the chapel of St. Wenceslas was frescoed by the Master of the Altar from Litoměřice.
