Palazzo Grimani Museum


The Palazzo Grimani Museum is an ancient noble palace, now a state museum, located in Venice in the Castello district, near the Campo di Santa Maria Formosa.

Its collection includes paintings, sculptures, tapestries, carpets and furniture, which testify to the taste and refinement of 16th-century Venetian life.

The palace is also an important example of Venetian Renaissance architecture.

What see

Among the most important works in the museum include:

  • The Grimani Collection, which includes paintings by Titian, Tintoretto, Bellini and Veronese;
  • The Grimani Chapel, decorated with frescoes by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo;
  • The Golden Hall, with a carved and gilded coffered ceiling;
  • The Library, which preserves a precious collection of ancient books.

Elegant palace of the former prosecutor of Venice, whose rooms with furniture and works of art can now be visited.

Open from 10am to 7pm, closed on Mondays.
