Nike Art Center

Nike Art Gallery is an art gallery in Lagos owned by Nike Davies-Okundaye.

The first gallery was founded in 1983 in Osogbo by the will of the artist and philanthropist Oyenike Monica Okundaye, with the aim of guaranteeing a cultural and artistic preparation for young people and without the help of the local government.

Okundaye herself initially sold her own works of art and organized art seminars.

The institute included twenty students who could not afford further studies for economic or other reasons of study.

In 1996 Okundaye founded a textile center where about two hundred women work in Ogidi and in 2002 the "Art and Culture Research Center" was created in Abuja, structured in an art museum and a textile center.

This venue is the first in Nigeria to allow the use of weaving research platforms.
